Peer Review Process

The Scipioneers Journal of Science and Technology (SJST) adheres to a peer review policy to ensure fairness, impartiality, and scholarly rigour in the publication process. In this model, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review cycle.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

  • The Editor first assesses all submissions to ensure compliance with:

    • Journal scope and relevance

    • Formatting and submission guidelines

    • Ethical standards and plagiarism screening

2. Reviewer Assignment

  • Each manuscript is assigned to at least two independent experts in the relevant subject area.

  • Reviewers receive only anonymised manuscripts, with no identifying author information.

  • Reviewers evaluate based on:

    • Originality and novelty

    • Methodological rigor

    • Clarity of presentation

    • Contribution to the field

    • Compliance with ethical standards

3. Anonymity Rules

  • Authors must:

    • Remove names, affiliations, and acknowledgements from the manuscript.

    • Avoid self-identifying references (e.g., "in our previous work").

  • Reviewers remain anonymous to authors, ensuring an impartial assessment.

  • All communication between reviewers and authors is mediated through the editorial office.

4. Decision-Making

  • After peer review, the Editor-in-Chief (with input from Associate Editors) considers reviewer recommendations.

  • Possible outcomes:

    • Accept

    • Minor Revisions

    • Major Revisions

    • Reject

  • A consolidated feedback report is provided to authors, maintaining reviewer anonymity.

5. Revision and Resubmission

  • Authors revise the manuscript according to reviewer comments and resubmit via the system.

  • Revised manuscripts may undergo further review if required.

  • Final acceptance is based on compliance with reviewer feedback and editorial standards.

6. Final Preparation & Publication

  • Once accepted, manuscripts are formatted and prepared for publication.

  • At this stage, author names and affiliations are restored for final publication.

7. Ethical Integrity

  • All submissions undergo plagiarism screening before review.

  • SJST strictly adheres to its Ethics Policy to ensure academic honesty and transparency.

  • The double-blind model protects against bias based on identity, reputation, gender, or institution.
